Victor Emmanuel Monument

Some didn't like the over-decorative tendencies of the Baroque style so they returned to the classical style again.

This structure is unbelievably huge and said to be not liked by some. Sometimes compared to being a wedding cake or Victorian typewriter.
Victor Emmanuel Monument
Victor Emmanuel was the first King of a unified Italy. The whole thing is built with pure white marble and has beautiful stairways, tall Corinthian columns, fountains, and a huge equestrian statue which is Victor Emmanuel.

A elevator is available so people can ride to the top and see a 360 degree view of Rome.

While some may say it is a pompous and too big I think it is a huge reminder of how important leaders are to Romans and the sense of their great pride.
